PESHAWAR ( Web Desk) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has pledged that his government will “deliver more than ever before” and roll out policies that truly serve the public.
Speaking at the Peshawar beautification ceremony, the chief minister said that Peshawar, as the provincial capital, must be made one of the most beautiful cities in the country. “It is our shared responsibility to brighten up the city and put it back on the map,” he said.
Afridi noted that the people of KP have made the greatest sacrifices in recent decades, yet the province is still waiting for its rightful financial share. He said KP’s outstanding dues in net hydel profit have reached Rs 2,200 billion, while Rs 700 billion are owed to the merged tribal districts — with Rs 500 billion still unpaid.
He stressed that KP’s constitutionally assigned share in the NFC Award stands at 19.4 percent and called on the federal government to “step up and play its part” by releasing funds and ending what he described as the “step-motherly treatment” of the province.
The chief minister reiterated that his government will “deliver big this time,” adding that no one will be given exemption under the law. “Our policies will be in the public interest. The people should stay confident — we will stick to the founding vision and keep pushing forward through political struggle,” he said.
