ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The opposition alliance Tehreek-i-Tahafuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan (TTAP) rejected the 27th Constitutional Amendment and announced nationwide protest and ‘Black Day’ to be observed on November 21.

According to a statement issued after an emergency meeting chaired by veteran politician Mehmood Khan Achakzai, the amendment has curtailed the authority of Supreme Court.

The statement said the government had “destroyed the basic structure of the Constitution” and demanded that the Constitution be restored to its original form.

It added that the ‘controversial’ amendment had placed the judiciary under the control of the executive.
