Man lured to collect Rs2 million loan in Karachi’s Shah Latif Town found murdered; police recover body, hammer, detain five suspects including woman and child.

KARACHI (Web Desk) - A man was brutally murdered in Karachi’s Shah Latif Town after being called to collect a Rs2 million loan repayment, police said.

According to police, the tortured body of 45-year-old Amir Qureshi was recovered from a house in the area. Initially, the incident was reported as a shooting, but no bullet wounds were found on the victim’s body. Instead, he was beaten and struck with a hammer, resulting in his death.

Investigators revealed that the deceased had a financial dispute with the house owner from where the body was found. Qureshi was lured there under the pretext of receiving his owed money. After killing him, the main suspect, with two accomplices, allegedly planned to dump the body near Ghaghar Phatak.

The suspect also hid the victim’s car to stage a fake kidnapping, while police had been actively searching for Qureshi since evening. CCTV footage from outside the suspect’s residence aroused suspicion, prompting a house search that led to the discovery of the victim’s body and the recovery of the murder weapon.

Police have detained five individuals, including a woman and a child present at the scene, and further investigation is underway.
