Nawaz Sharif visits residence of late Irfan Siddiqui, offers condolences

Nawaz Sharif offered Fateha for the departed soul and prayed for elevation of the deceased's ranks and patience and courage for his family.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday visited the residence of late party senator Irfan Siddiqui in Islamabad to offer condolences to the bereaved family.

Nawaz Sharif met with the family members of late Irfan Siddiqui and commiserated with them. He offered Fateha for the departed soul and prayed for elevation of the deceased's ranks and patience and courage for his family.

Earlier in the day, Senate unanimously adopted a condolence resolution over the sad demise of Senator Irfan Siddiqui, paying rich tribute to his distinguished services as a legislator, columnist, and scholar.

While addressing the Senate, Leader of the House Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar reflected on his four-decade-long association with the late parliamentarian, paying tribute to him as “a noble teacher, a distinguished journalist, and a man of integrity.”

Senator Sherry Rehman delivered a heartfelt address, calling Irfan Siddiqui “the conscience and moral compass of this House.” She said his decency, intellect and humility defined the Senate’s grace. “He was a bridge-builder in politics and thought, a writer whose words carried compassion and clarity.
