SRINAGAR (Web Desk) - Indian forces personnel, during massive crackdown and house raid operations, arrested at least 1,500 Kashmiris, including women and doctors, in fabricated cases across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in one of the largest cordon-and-search operations, Indian Army, paramilitary forces, police, and other agencies have detained around 1,500 individuals across the Kashmir Valley for questioning over the past three days.
The Indian BJP regime’s aim is to keep the oppressed people of Kashmir under constant pressure, weaken their resolve for the right to self-determination, and suppress dissent through the use of black laws and brute force.
The main targets of the violent operation are young men - mostly youth - and family members of the Hurriyat camp based in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan, and abroad, who continue to raise their voices for the right to self-determination.
“As of now, over 1,500 people have been picked up for questioning,” a senior police officer confired. “We have launched simultaneous operations in all parts of the Valley, and the main targets are people with a pro-freedom and anti-India background, their sympathisers, over-ground workers, and those booked under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act but currently out on bail.”
The officer further said that the aim is to keep “militants and their sympathisers in check by keeping them under constant pressure. This has worked in the past as well.”
Police stated that during the house raid operations, they also seized house and bank documents, digital devices, books, and other items.
Officials added that 16 properties of Hurriyat activists were searched in Baramulla, leading to 10 individuals being bound down under draconian laws. Additionally, 32 cordon-and-search operations were carried out in different parts of the district.
In South Kashmir, including Islamabad, Pulwama, Shopian, and Kulgam districts, police conducted extensive CASOs at multiple locations, including the residences of recently martyred youth and their associates supporting the liberation struggle.
In Budgam district, police said they carried out a crackdown on the liberation network.
In Ganderbal, Indian forces during cordon-and-search operations and house raids detained 39 persons and lodged them in Dignibal Jail, Ganderbal.
In Kulgam district, Indian forces during house raids arrested eight members of Hurriyat families and subsequently shifted them to Central Jail, Islamabad.
Indian forces also arrested eight persons during search and raid operations in different areas of Srinagar, Shopian, Pulwama, and Kulgam districts. Similarly, Indian forces conducted cordon-and-search operations and house raids in Ramban, Kishtwar, Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, and Kathua districts, detaining and questioning dozens of youth.
