Senior PML-N leader Irfan Siddiqui passes away

Senator Irfan Siddiqui was one of the closest aides to party president Nawaz Sharif. He served as the PML-N's parliamentary leader in the Senate.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Senator Irfan Siddiqui passed away on Monday in Islamabad after a brief illness, Dunya News reported.

Senator Irfan Siddiqui had been suffering from respiratory complications for the past two weeks and was under treatment at a private hospital in Islamabad, where he died on Monday.

Irfan Siddiqui was the parliamentary leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the Senate and was among the closest associates of PML-N President Nawaz Sharif.

Late Irfan Siddiqui served as a member of the Senate of Pakistan from the Punjab province from March 2021 until his death.

He also served as special adviser on national affairs to the former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif. During Nawaz Sharif's second reign, Siddiqui has also served as the press secretary of the former President of Pakistan Rafiq Tarar.
