ISLAMABAD (Dunay News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Saifullah Abro and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Senator Ahmad Khan have both voted in favour of the 27th Constitutional Amendment during the Senate session on Monday.
According to Senate sources, both lawmakers arrived in the House and cast their votes supporting the amendment, which was presented by Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar.
The session, presided over by Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, continued with clause-by-clause approval of the proposed constitutional changes.
At present, the government and its allied parties hold a two-thirds majority in the Senate, enabling them to pass the amendment article by article without major opposition.
The 27th Amendment Bill is viewed as a major political and constitutional development, with debates ongoing regarding its implications for the country’s judicial and legislative structure.
