LAHORE (APP) - The global Tablighi Congregation started at Raiwind on Thursday that will conclude on Sunday with special prayer.
The first phase of the Tablighi gathering began with the sermon by Maulana Muhammad Ahmed Batla.
The participants of the gathering will be addressed by scholars from India and Bangladesh. The Tablighi gathering has been divided into two phases. The first phase of the gathering will end with a prayer on November 9.
The areas of Upper Dir, Bajaur, Chitral, Sargodha, Mianwali, Jhang, Sindh Province, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Chakwal, Jhelum, Attock, Kashmir, Mardan, Buner and Karak have been included in the first phase.
A large number of city traffic police and patrol police personnel are on duty during the gathering.
A few days ago, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Tablighi Markaz in Raiwind, where he met senior leaders of the Tablighi Jamaat, including Maulana Muhammad Ahmad, Maulana Ubaidullah Khurshid, Dr Saleem, and others.
During the meeting, the Jamaat leaders briefed the minister on the preparations for the upcoming annual international Tablighi Ijtema.
Mohsin Naqvi praised the services of the Tablighi Jamaat for Islam and assured full cooperation for delegations arriving from abroad. He said that any visa-related issues faced by foreign participants would be resolved on a priority basis.
