ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Secretary Information Shazia Mari has said her party will not let the rollback of 18th Amendment.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, the PPP leader said her party wanted to witness the provinces strengthened, adding any such proposal that was meant to strip the provinces of their powers would not be supported.

She said that the PPP could never take back the powers given to the provinces. “If there is anything in the constitutional amendment that can improve the system, we will support it,” the PPP leader said.

The PPP Information Secretary said, “We cannot support any proposal that would take away the powers of the provinces.”

“Our position on the 18th Amendment and the NFC section is clear and we will not back down from it. A rollback of the 18th Amendment is not possible.

“If they want the support of the PPP, then the PPP cannot participate in such a matter,” the PPP leader added.
