Any attempt to undermine provincial autonomy will not be accepted: CM Afridi

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi On Wednesday said that any attempt to undermine provincial autonomy will not be accepted.

Speaking to the media in the federal capital, Sohail Afridi said that he had approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for permission to meet PTI founder Imran Khan, but despite the court’s order, the meeting was not allowed.

Sohail Afridi said that meeting my leader is my right. I am following the democratic means to meet PTI founder. He said that Parliament is the supreme institution. I will raise my voice to meet Imran Khan. Today (Thursday), I will go to meet the PTI founder.

He further stated that we would not tolerate any attack on provincial autonomy and would thwart all attempts to weaken democracy. He said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is the guardian of democracy and the Constitution.

Sohail Afridi said that his purpose in coming to the assembly was to get a resolution approved to allow a meeting with the founder of PTI. “I will also ask the Speaker National Assembly that it is essential for me to meet Imran Khan and to seek his guidance regarding the constitutional amendment,” he concluded.
