ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday lauded the security forces for successfully thwarting terrorist infiltration attempts and conducting decisive operations against the India-backed militant group Fitna al-Khawarij in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
In their separate statements, they reaffirmed the unflinching national resolve to root out terrorism from the country. They said the entire nation is proud of its security forces and stands resolute alongside them to defeat the menace of terrorism.
President Zardari paid rich tribute to the security forces for their timely and effective action, describing their success as vital for Pakistan’s peace and stability, a statement from the presidency said.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to its defense and sovereignty, the President said that operations under Azm-e-Istehkam would continue until the complete eradication of terrorism. He also prayed for the safety of the nation from all forms of strife and extremism.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a separate statement, also paid tribute to the security forces for their successful operations in North Waziristan and Tank districts, where three terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij were killed.
“The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with our valiant forces in the fight against terrorism under Azm-e-Istehkam,” the PM stated, reaffirming the government’s resolve to eliminate terrorism in all its forms from the country.
