ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather alert, predicting rain, strong winds, and snowfall in the upper parts of the country this week.
According to the Met Office, a new westerly wave will enter Pakistan tonight, which will cause rain, thunder, and snowfall over the hills between November 4 and 5.
Light to moderate rain is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Abbottabad, and Haripur, while Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Kashmir, and Muzaffarabad may also receive showers and snowfall in surrounding mountains.
In Punjab, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Sargodha are likely to get rain as well. Showers are also expected in Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, and adjoining areas.

The PMD added that the rain would bring temperatures down a notch and help cut down smog and fog, offering much-needed relief for residents of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Authorities have advised people living in hilly areas to stay alert as slippery roads and low visibility may cause travel disruptions.
