Chaudhry added that if one’s hands are clean, there should be no hesitation in putting things in writing

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) — Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said on Saturday that Pakistan’s principled stance had been recognised both by the international community and by its neighbours.

Chaudhry stated that for the first time, Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed in writing to establish a formal mechanism. He added that a detailed framework for this mechanism will be finalised on November 6.

The minister said that it is a success for Pakistan that matters have now been formally documented, as both the world and neighboring countries have accepted Pakistan’s principled position.

He further remarked that there is no doubt Afghanistan has long acted as a proxy for India, adding that evidence exists of terrorist groups operating within Afghanistan. After the first ceasefire, he noted, the banned TTP issued a statement declaring Kabul as its enemy as well.

Chaudhry added that if one’s hands are clean, there should be no hesitation in putting things in writing. He emphasised that this time, the agreement was made in written form and in the presence of two mediators.
