LAHORE (Dunya News) – Sheikhupura has become the first city in Punjab to host a mobile police station, inaugurated to bring policing and administrative services directly to citizens’ doorsteps.
The initiative aims to simplify access to essential police services without the need for residents to visit physical stations.
According to the District Police Officer (DPO) of Sheikhupura, the mobile police station provides a complete range of facilities – from the registration of First Information Reports (FIRs) and issuance of character certificates to driving licence renewals and lost item reports.
The DPO added that the service operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, ensuring continuous support for the public. Citizens can conveniently register complaints, renew licences, and obtain police-related documents through the mobile unit, significantly reducing processing time and travel.
The mobile police station has been launched under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who emphasises innovation and accessibility in governance, with plans to replicate similar mobile police stations across the province.
