RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – A new mobile application has been launched across Punjab’s prisons, including Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, to enable advance online booking for prisoner visits.
The digital platform, developed under the provincial prison authorities, aims to streamline the visitation process and reduce on-site waiting times.
According to officials, the app allows users to schedule appointments with inmates and under-trial prisoners through an advance booking system. It is now available for download on the Google Play Store. A formal directive has been issued to all superintendents across Punjab to ensure the app’s implementation in their respective facilities.
Each jail’s in-charge of the Prisoners Management Information System (PMIS) has received specialised training to operate the new system. To ensure seamless operations, instructional videos have also been provided to the prison staff for further guidance.
To support visitors using the online booking feature, staff have been assigned to assist at waiting sheds in each prison. Dedicated facilitation counters are also being set up for those arriving with online appointments, ensuring a smoother and faster visitation experience.
