Rupee inches up as dollar dips by 4 paisas in interbank market

The Pakistani rupee continued to gain slight ground against the US dollar on Thursday, appreciating by 4 paisas in the interbank market to close at Rs280.92

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Pakistani rupee extended its upward trend against the US dollar on Thursday, as the local currency strengthened marginally in the interbank market. During the day’s trading, the dollar lost 4 paisas, closing at Rs280.92, compared to the previous day’s closing rate of Rs280.96.

Currency dealers said the rupee’s steady performance reflects improved foreign inflows and stable demand for the greenback amid tight monetary controls by the State Bank of Pakistan.

Market experts noted that although the movement is slight, it adds to the ongoing stability seen in recent weeks. “The rupee seems to be holding its ground, and small gains like this show growing confidence in the market,” said one analyst.

The local currency has shown resilience despite global economic uncertainty, and traders are hopeful that the rupee will continue to stay on a steady path in the near term.
