LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has launched an upgraded version of its Public Safety App, designed to address emergencies and cater to the needs of vulnerable citizens.

Inclusive safety features

The app is the first of its kind in Pakistan to include dedicated features for blind, mute, hearing-impaired and epileptic patients, as well as people with mental health conditions. Specially trained agents proficient in sign language are integrated to assist these groups. A unique lock screen option allows users with disabilities to display their condition and next-of-kin details, ensuring faster identification and rescue during emergencies.

Wide-ranging emergency tools

Key functions of the app include one-tap 15-emergency calling, live chat, video call and location-based flood alerts. It also provides gesture-based SOS alerts, fall detection for epilepsy patients, accident and collision alerts, and a Family Circle feature for tracking loved ones. Citizens can also report crimes, access virtual blood banks, check e-challan details and connect with official portals such as the Chief Minister’s Punjab Portal, IGP Complaint Cell and Police Khidmat Markaz.

Accessible for all

Available in both English and Urdu, the Public Safety App has been developed with an inclusive design approach. Alongside support for differently-abled citizens, the app provides direct access to emergency services including fire brigade, medical help, motorway police and Punjab Highway Patrol. It also extends special safety initiatives for women, children, senior citizens and minorities, positioning it as a comprehensive step towards technology-driven public security in Punjab.
