Two women die as boat capsizes during rescue in Rahim Yar Khan

Tragedy strikes flood-hit area as boat overturns; several children still missing

RAHIM YAR KHAN (Dunya News) - A rescue operation in flood-affected Rahim Yar Khan turned tragic when a boat capsized, resulting in the death of two women and leaving four children missing.

The incident occurred in the Noorwala area of Punjab's Rahim Yar Khan district. During the ongoing rescue mission, a boat carrying flood victims overturned, causing two women to drown. Eyewitnesses reported that the rescue team was transporting stranded individuals when the boat lost balance and flipped.

According to rescue sources, the deceased women have been identified as the wives of Muhammad Asif and Akmal. The cause of the capsizing remains unknown.

In the aftermath of the accident, local authorities launched an emergency search operation to locate the four to five missing children feared swept away by strong currents. The area has been cordoned off, and fear and anxiety have spread among residents.
