UAE naval commander meets Pakistan Air Chief in Islamabad

Regional security and defence cooperation discussed in high-level meeting

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Commander of the United Arab Emirates Naval Forces, Major General Hamad Mohammed Abdullah Al Rumaithi, visited Air Headquarters in Islamabad, the Pakistani military media wing said on Monday.

He held a meeting with Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu.

The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that both sides exchanged views on regional security, joint training initiatives and defence cooperation. The Air chief briefed the visiting commander on his vision of building a modern, technologically advanced air force.

The meeting further covered upgrade programmes in cyber, space, artificial intelligence and electronic warfare domains. The Air chief highlighted the deep religious and historical bonds shared by Pakistan and the UAE, and reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to military cooperation, particularly in the fields of training and joint operational exercises.

Defence upgrades

Major General Al Rumaithi expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality accorded to him and praised the Pakistan Air Force for its technological advancements and operational capacity.

He showed keen interest in joint exercises and training collaborations with the PAF, noting that the operational framework and combat doctrine of Pakistan’s Air Force served as a valuable model for regional and international partners.

The UAE Naval Commander emphasised that his country’s air force was eager to participate in joint training initiatives in Pakistan, describing the effort as a milestone in strengthening fraternal ties between the two nations.

According to ISPR, both sides reaffirmed their resolve to further consolidate defence and military relations.
