Fakhar Zaman achieves another T20I milestone

He becomes the sixth Pakistani cricketer to play 100 T20 Internationals

SHARJAH (Dunya News) – Pakistan' left-hand batter Fakhar Zaman has achieved a major milestone by completing 100 T20 International matches.

The landmark came during the fourth match of the ongoing tri-nation T20I series on Tuesday, where Pakistan faced Afghanistan at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Fakhar scored 25 runs in his milestone match before being dismissed.

He made his T20I debut in 2017 against the West Indies and has since been a key part of Pakistan’s limited-overs setup.

With this achievement, he becomes the sixth Pakistani cricketer to play 100 T20 Internationals.

Before him, Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Shadab Khan, and Mohammad Rizwan have also reached this milestone, showcasing the growing experience within Pakistan’s T20 squad.

Afghanistan beat Pakistan by 18 runs in the fourth T20I of the tri-series. This was Pakistan’s first defeat in the tournament, after winning their opening two fixtures.

Opting to bat first, Afghanistan lost opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz (8 off 10 balls, 1x6) early, with Hasan Nawaz taking a fine catch off the bowling of Saim Ayub.Ibrahim Zadran (65, 45b, 8x4s, 1x6) and Sediqullah Atal (64, 45b, 3x4s, 3x6s) then piled up 113 runs for the second wicket before the latter fell prey to Faheem Ashraf’s slower one as the scoreboard read 123-2 in the 16th over.
