Wildlife dept rescues six lions stranded in floodwater near Ravi

Four boats and veterinary doctors participated in the operation

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Punjab wildlife department rescued six lions stranded in the floodwater at a farmhouse near the Ravi in Lahore.

The rescue operation was carried out on the instructions of CM Maryam Nawaz.

The operation was supervised by wildlife department secretary Mudassir Riaz Malik.

The wildlife rangers displayed remarkable dedication and courage in carrying out the operation amid heavy rains.

The rescue mission was extremely challenging due to the lions being stranded in floodwaters.

The wildlife rangers not only saved the lions but also managed to avoid any risk to human lives during the rescue operation.

All the rescued lions were immediately transferred to a safe location, where they have been given medical checkups.

Their health is being continuously monitored to prevent any further complications.

Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb praised the joint efforts of the wildlife rangers.

She lauded the brave rangers for risking their lives in stormy weather to save the lions.

“The protection of wildlife is the Punjab government’s top priority,” said the senior minister.
