(Web Desk) - Actor and model Khaqan Shah Nawaz has said Pakistan and India should realise that their real battle is against poverty and climate change.
In a video message shared on the social media app Instagram, the actor urged the public of both countries to focus on real issues.
In his video statement, he said that a few months ago, during heightened tensions between Pakistan and India, people in both countries were busy making memes.
Indians were saying, "We’ll block Pakistan’s water. How will you bathe?"
Meanwhile, Pakistanis were saying, "Let the monsoon come. With water from India, many other things will come too."
The actor added that this is exactly what happened. The monsoon came, and the destruction was so great that both countries suffered major losses.
He advised that instead of making memes about each other, or speaking against each other’s religion or country, people should come together and find a solution to climate change. Otherwise, in 10 years, neither India nor Pakistan will remain, only memes on the internet will be left, he regretted.
