Court extends Ducky Bhai's custody in gambling apps case

The case will be taken up again on September 1.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – YouTuber Saadur Rehman, known by his online name Ducky Bhai, will remain in the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency’s (NCCIA) custody for another four days after a Lahore judicial magistrate extended his physical remand on Thursday.

The extension comes in connection with an ongoing probe into the alleged promotion of illegal gambling and betting applications on social media platforms.

Rehman was taken into custody at Lahore airport on August 17.

The state, through the NCCIA Lahore, registered the case against him under several provisions of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016 — including Sections 13 (Electronic Forgery), 14 (Electronic Fraud), 25 (Spamming), and 26 (Spoofing).

He also faces charges under the Pakistan Penal Code, including Section 294-B (Offering prize in connection with trade) and Section 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property).

The investigation stems from an inquiry initiated on June 13, following intelligence reports that certain YouTubers and influencers were allegedly endorsing gambling platforms for financial gain.

The FIR stated that unsuspecting members of the public invested their money in these applications, only to face financial setbacks.

According to the FIR, Ducky Bhai promoted platforms such as Binomo, 1xBet, Bet 365, and B9 Game via his YouTube channel.

During Thursday’s hearing, Rehman appeared in court.

The prosecution argued that further time was needed to complete the investigation and sought an extension in remand.

His lawyer, Chaudhry Usman Ali, objected to the request, but the magistrate sided with the prosecution and extended the custody.

The case will be taken up again on September 1.
