Punjab bans presentation of bouquets, gifts to officials during school visits

Secretary of Education has issued a directive to CCOs of Education across all districts.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Punjab government has prohibited the practice of presenting bouquets and gifts to government officials during school visits.

According to sources, the Secretary of Education has issued a directive to CCOs of Education across all districts.

The circular noted that during various official visits, unnecessary expenditures by school administrations on bouquets and hospitality had been observed. It directed that such expenses should instead be allocated for the welfare and development of schools and students.

Emphasizing simplicity, the Education Secretary instructed that no flowers or gifts be presented during official tours and urged all education officers to discourage this “showcase culture.” All officials have been ordered to ensure immediate compliance with the directive.
