LAHORE (Dunya News) - As monsoon rains continued to batter different areas of the country, the water level continued to increase in all major rivers dams, and streams, Dunya News reported.
According to sources, Indus River is in low flood at Tarbela, and medium-level flood at Kalabagh. In the Ravi River, a low-level flood situation has developed at Jassar, with a water flow of 36,000 cusecs recorded at Shahdara.
In Bahawalnagar, the water level in the Sutlej River has risen at Bhohkan Pattan, submerging roads in floodwaters and cutting off ground access between several villages and Bahawalnagar.
In Kasur, the Sutlej River is flowing medium-level flood, severing land connections to multiple settlements. Water has entered homes, and crops have been submerged. In the outskirts of Bahawalpur, privately constructed protective embankments have broken, damaging cotton crops spread over hundreds of acres.
Due to rising water levels, spillways of Rawal Dam and Tarbela Dam have been opened.
