ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The outgoing United Arab Emirates ambassador, Hamad Obaid Al-Zaabi, held a farewell meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari at the President House.
President Zardari emphasised strengthening Pakistan-UAE relations, stating that Pakistan attaches great importance to its longstanding brotherly ties with the UAE.
Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to Ambassador Hamad Obaid Al-Zaabi for his services and congratulated him on a successful tenure. The President expressed gratitude for the UAE’s support to Pakistan during challenging times.
Meanwhile, Ethiopia’s Ambassador Jamal Baker Abdulla met President Asif Ali Zardari at the President’s House.
On this occasion, Zardari stated that Pakistan highly values its relations with Ethiopia, noting vast opportunities for enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, and agriculture.
The President described the establishment of Ethiopia’s embassy in Islamabad and the launch of Karachi-Addis Ababa flights as welcome steps, emphasizing the need for early completion of the Pakistan-Ethiopia Air Services Agreement.
The Ethiopian envoy expressed sorrow over the loss of lives due to recent rains and floods in Pakistan. He stressed the need to further strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.
