PM orders uninterrupted power supply in flood-hit areas

Shehbaz Sharif thanks rescue teams, bans load-shedding for a week

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply in areas affected by recent floods, as rescue and relief operations continue in full swing.

Chairing a high-level meeting to review ongoing flood relief efforts, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude to all individuals and agencies actively assisting the flood victims, especially the Pakistan Army and civil institutions working around the clock.

“This is a difficult and testing time,” he said. “All institutions, including the armed forces, are working tirelessly, and food supplies to affected areas are being ensured.”

Shehbaz Sharif issued specific instructions to halt load-shedding in flood-hit regions for at least one week. He also announced plans to personally visit the affected areas soon, while federal ministers are already monitoring relief activities on the ground.

He confirmed that displaced individuals are being relocated to safer places and praised the dedication of all those involved in the emergency response.
