QUETTA (Dunya News) – Torrential rains over the past 24 hours in Ziarat, Khuzdar, Surab, Jhal Magsi, Harnai, and Kalat have left at least two people dead and caused widespread destruction across several districts of Balochistan.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), heavy rainfall resulted in both human and material losses.
In Harnai, the collapse of a roof claimed the lives of a woman and a child, while another woman was injured. In Gachina, three people were swept away by floodwaters; two were rescued, while efforts continue to save a missing child.

In Surab, more than 115 houses sustained damage due to the rains. Meanwhile, the National Highway Authority (NHA) reported that the Quetta-Sibi highway was closed to traffic after heavy downpours in Kachhi.
The flooding of the Bolan River also damaged the Bibi Nani bridge, with authorities urging citizens to avoid unnecessary travel until restoration work is completed.
