LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued an alert for low to moderate level flooding in the Ravi River during the next 24 hours, Dunya News reported on Monday.
According to the PDMA spokesperson, currently between 55,000 to 60,000 cusecs of water is flowing in Ravi River at Jassar.
He further said that the water flow at Shahdara near Lahore in the Ravi River is currently 28,000 cusecs, with the possibility of a further increase during next 24 hours.
PDMA Punjab has instructed the administrations of districts adjacent to the Ravi River to take emergency precautionary measures. The spokesperson also said that evacuation orders have been issued for residents living within the riverbed of the Ravi River.
