ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) has confirmed two new polio cases — one from Lower Kohistan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and another from Badin in Sindh.
According to the health department, the virus was detected in a 6-year-old girl in Pattan, Lower Kohistan, raising KP’s tally to 13 cases this year.
So far, three cases each have been reported from Bannu and Lakki Marwat, two each from Tank and North Waziristan, and one each from DI Khan, Torghar, and Lower Kohistan.
Meanwhile, one case was confirmed in Badin, bringing Pakistan’s total polio cases for 2025 to 21.

NEOC warned that polio is incurable and prevention is only possible through vaccination. A nationwide anti-polio campaign will begin on September 1.
Parents are urged to administer polio drops to protect children from lifelong disability and to complete routine immunization on time.
