LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has directed the board to finalize and announce the new central contracts for players before the national team departs for the UAE later this month.
The consultation process for new central contracts is currently underway as the previous contracts officially expired on June 30, leaving several players awaiting clarity on their future with the national setup.
Sahibzada Farhan, Hasan Nawaz, Fakhar Zaman, Faheem Ashraf, spinner Sufiyan Muqeem, and Mohammad Haris are likely to secure to the central contract.
Meanwhile, Hasan Ali, Khushdil Shah, Hussain Talat, and Mohammad Nawaz are also likely to receive new contracts.
However, sources add that players with consistently poor performances are likely to be excluded from the upcoming contracts as part of a renewed focus on merit and performance.
The Pakistan national team is scheduled to depart for the United Arab Emirates on August 21 for tri-series.
