BUNER (Dunya News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Saturday announced Rs2 million compensation for the families of those who lost their lives in Buner following the recent cloudburst and flash floods.
The CM visited the affected areas, reviewed the damage, and assured that restoring access roads remains a top priority. He added that while human loss cannot be compensated, financial relief will be provided to cover damages.

During a briefing at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, officials reported that floods damaged 5,380 houses across seven village councils, leaving 209 dead, 134 missing, and 159 injured.
Gandapur will continue visits to flood-hit areas today, while additional helicopters have been requested to expedite relief and rescue operations. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan thanked the provincial government for standing with Buner’s people in this difficult time.
Heavy rains and flash floods have wreaked havoc across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, claiming more than 400 lives in a matter of days.
Torrential downpours triggered landslides, road collapses and swelling rivers that swept away bridges, homes and entire villages.
In Gilgit-Baltistan, glacial streams and flash floods battered multiple areas. In Skardu, five bridges collapsed into rivers while in Chilas’s Ouchar stream several people were washed away, killing ten.
