PTI workers granted bail in August 5 protest case

The court granted bail to nine PTI workers against surety bonds of Rs. 10,000 each

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The District and Sessions Court Islamabad has approved bail applications of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers arrested in connection with the August 5 protest case.

Judicial Magistrate Imran Amir Abbasi heard the petitions, where PTI counsels Mirza Asim Baig, Ansar Kayani, Shamsa Kayani, and others represented the workers.

Advocate Mirza Asim argued that the case was baseless, as the complainant named in the FIR was not even the concerned person. He further pointed out that female PTI workers had already been granted bail in the same case.

Counsel Ansar Kayani added that police records showed no recovery from any accused, while Mirza Asim highlighted that another case was later registered with identical charges copy-pasted.

After hearing the arguments, the court granted bail to nine PTI workers against surety bonds of Rs. 10,000 each. The case had been registered at Lohi Bher police station under multiple sections, including the PAPO Act.
