WASHINGTON, DC (Web Desk) - Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, delivered a powerful Independence Day message, praising the resilience and unity of Pakistanis both at home and across the globe.
Marking the 78th anniversary of the country’s independence, the ambassador emphasised that Pakistanis remain ever-ready to defend their freedom—no matter where they live.
“On this historic day, I extend heartfelt congratulations to all Pakistanis in the US, in Pakistan, and around the world,” Ambassador Sheikh said. “Independence Day is not only a celebration—it is a renewal of our commitment to the ideals of freedom and sovereignty.”
He remarked that this year’s Independence Day holds deeper meaning, coming three months after a historic victory in what he referred to as a “battle for truth.” This triumph, he noted, reaffirmed Pakistan’s freedom and was recognised by the global community.
“Our armed forces—on land, sea, and air—demonstrated exceptional courage and professionalism. The entire nation stood shoulder-to-shoulder with them, united beyond all internal differences,” he stated. “We proved to the world that Pakistanis, no matter where they reside, are always ready to defend their freedom.”

Ambassador Sheikh referenced the symbolic Bunyanun-un- Marsoos operation, calling it the beginning of a greater mission rooted in strength, discipline, and unity—qualities essential for achieving the vision set forth by Pakistan’s founding leader. “As our Quaid said, ‘There is no power on earth that can undo Pakistan,’ and that promise will only be fulfilled when we become economically invincible.”
He urged Pakistani-Americans to play an active role in strengthening US–Pakistan relations. “In the wake of our recent triumph, Pakistan’s global image has improved. Our relations with the United States have entered a new, promising phase. We must all work together to preserve and enhance this partnership,” he added.
Ambassador Sheikh closed by thanking the community for their unwavering support and called for continued cooperation to shape a strong, secure, and prosperous Pakistan.
