KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday directed the concerned authorities to expedite efforts for the recovery of missing persons.
The court was hearing over 10 petitions related to enforced disappearances. During the proceedings, police submitted their report to the court.
According to the police report, four individuals – Abdul Rehman, Raheem Bakhsh, Owais, and Hamza – who had gone missing from the jurisdiction of Chakiwara Police Station, have now returned home. After verification by the petitioners, the court disposed of the petitions related to these individuals.
However, the court instructed authorities to intensify efforts for the recovery of other missing persons, including Faisal (missing from Gizri), Tauseef Ahmed, Ismail, and Shahnawaz (from Sachal), among others.
The government counsel informed the court that Joint Investigation Team (JIT) meetings are being organized, led by the SSP Investigation, to trace the whereabouts of the missing persons.
