ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – A major development has emerged in the Al-Qadir Trust NAB reference involving Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi and others, as part of the assets of absconding accused have reportedly been auctioned.
Reports in local media suggest that one of three Bani Gala properties was sold, while the remaining two attracted no bids.
According to the auction committee, 405 kanals of agricultural land in Mohra Noor, Bani Gala, were reportedly sold at Rs 3.42 million per kanal. The auction took place in the presence of Assistant Commissioner Secretariat Uzair Ali Khan and other committee members, media reports added..
Other properties unsold
Plots included in the auction list but not sold were a 16-kanal motel plot on Club Road and 248 kanals of agricultural land. The auction was originally scheduled for 11am but the committee arrived at 5:39pm. Prior to the auction, the Assistant Commissioner Secretariat had issued a public notice stating that 248 kanals 8 marlas and 405 kanals 3 marlas of land in Mauza Mohra Noor would be offered.
The notice further required interested buyers to submit a pay order of Rs 5 million in favour of the NAB Chairman before participating, and allowed prospective bidders to inspect the property. Details were to be provided by the local patwari, with terms and conditions approved by the evaluation committee.
Those declared absconders in January 2024 in the same NAB reference include Farhat Shehzad alias Farah Gogi, Zulfi Bukhari, and Shahzad Akbar, along with three others.
PTI reaction
Reacting to the development, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja stated that reports of the alleged auction of Imran Khan’s Bani Gala residence surfaced only today. In a post on X, he claimed the Bani Gala administration had no prior knowledge and described the move as secretive.
