ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has come down hard on the Israeli cabinet's recent decision to take full control of Gaza City, calling it an illegal and dangerous move that will only fan the flames of an already devastating conflict.
In a strongly worded statement issued on Thursday, the Prime Minister said the plan amounts to an escalation in Israel’s brutal war against the Palestinian people.
“This will further worsen the already dire humanitarian crisis and wipe out any remaining hope for peace in the region,” he warned.
Shehbaz Sharif stressed that the world must not turn a blind eye to the real root of this ongoing tragedy: Israel’s prolonged and illegal occupation of Palestinian land.
“As long as this occupation continues, peace will remain nothing more than a distant dream,” he added.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support, the Prime Minister said the country stands shoulder to shoulder with the Palestinian people and backs their right to self-determination, in line with UN and OIC resolutions.

He also reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to the creation of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
Calling on the international community, PM Shehbaz urged world leaders to step in immediately to halt Israel’s unjust aggression, protect innocent civilians, and ensure urgent delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.
