RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Pakistani security forces have eliminated 33 terrorists as they attempted to infiltrate the Pakistan–Afghanistan border near Sambaza in Zhob District, Balochistan, the military’s media wing confirmed on Friday.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the group belonged to the India-sponsored outfit Fitna al Khwaraj. Troops engaged the infiltrators in a precise and skilful operation, killing 33 militants and seizing a significant cache of weapons, ammunition and explosives.
A sanitisation operation is under way to clear the region of any remaining militants.
The ISPR stated that Pakistan’s forces remain resolute in defending the country’s borders and countering cross-border terrorism.
Major, two soldiers martyred in Mastung IED blast; four Indian proxy terrorists eliminated
Yesterday, ISPR shared that three Pakistan Army personnel, including a major, embraced martyrdom when Indian-sponsored militants targeted a security forces’ vehicle with an improvised explosive device (IED) in Mastung district of Balochistan. The attack, which took place on the night of 5–6th August, was claimed by Fitna al Hindustan, a proxy group backed by Indian intelligence.
They were identified as Major Muhammad Rizwan Tahir, 31, from Narowal; Naik Ibni Amin, 37, from Swabi; and Lance Naik Muhammad Younas, 33, from Karak. Major Rizwan, a decorated officer, had led numerous counter-terrorism missions.
In response, security forces launched a sanitisation operation, killing four militants linked to the assault.
