PCB suspends Haider Ali amid UK criminal investigation

Provisional suspension enforced as Greater Manchester Police probe incident from England tour

LAHORE – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has provisionally suspended cricketer Haider Ali following confirmation of a criminal investigation launched by the Greater Manchester Police in the United Kingdom.

The inquiry relates to an incident reportedly occurred during the Pakistan Shaheens' recent tour of England.

In an official statement, the PCB said it was aware of the situation and, in line with its responsibility to safeguard players' rights and welfare, had ensured Haider Ali received appropriate legal support throughout the process.

The board emphasised its respect for UK legal procedures and affirmed that it would allow the investigation to proceed without interference. The provisional suspension is effective immediately, pending the outcome of the legal proceedings.

The PCB added that once the investigation concludes and all relevant facts are established, it reserves the right to take action under its Code of Conduct if necessary. Until then, the PCB stated it would refrain from further public comment on the matter.
