RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf has concluded an official visit to Azerbaijan, where he met with top military leadership to boost bilateral maritime cooperation and regional naval security, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Upon arrival at the Azerbaijan Naval Forces Headquarters, Admiral Ashraf was presented with a guard of honour. During his visit, he held a significant meeting with First Grade Captain Shahin Mammadov, Commander of the Azerbaijan Naval Forces. The two discussed enhancing naval ties and explored opportunities for collaboration in maritime security.
The Naval Chief emphasised the importance of joint exercises and training exchange programs to strengthen naval interoperability. He was also briefed in detail on the operational readiness, training systems, and ongoing activities of the Azerbaijan Navy, and witnessed a demonstration by their Special Operations Forces.
Admiral Naveed Ashraf also called on Azerbaijan's Chief of General Staff, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, where both sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest.
According to ISPR, the visit is expected to significantly enhance overall defense cooperation, particularly naval relations, between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
