Punjab considers extending school holidays until August 31 due to heat

The School Education Department has yet to make a final decision

LAHORE (Web Desk) - As summer vacations in Punjab schools near their scheduled end, uncertainty looms over whether schools will reopen on August 15.

The School Education Department has yet to make a final decision, with sources indicating that an extension of holidays until August 31 is under consideration due to extreme weather conditions.

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat stated that consultations are ongoing regarding the summer break. A decision on whether to extend the holidays will be made soon.

It is worth noting that while intermittent rainfall continues in parts of the province, the weather remains intensely hot and humid in areas without rain.

Authorities will take the prevailing weather conditions into account before announcing the final decision on school reopening.
