RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Three Pakistan Army soldiers, including a major, have embraced martyrdom in a terrorist attack late on the night of 5/6 August, when Indian-sponsored militants targeted a security forces’ vehicle with an improvised explosive device (IED) in Mastung district of Balochistan.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the assault was orchestrated by Fitna al Hindustan, a proxy group backed by Indian intelligence.
The fallen soldiers were identified as Major Muhammad Rizwan Tahir, aged 31 and a resident of Narowal; Naik Ibni Amin, 37, from Swabi; and Lance Naik Muhammad Younas, 33, hailing from Karak. Major Rizwan, a decorated officer, had participated in several counter-terrorism operations and was known for leading his men from the front.
Terrorists neutralised
In a swift response, Pakistani security forces launched a sanitisation operation in the area.
Four Indian-sponsored terrorists connected to the attack were located and eliminated.
According to ISPR, the operation remains ongoing as troops continue efforts to clear the area of any remaining threats and dismantle networks linked to cross-border terrorism.
