ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday met with Lieutenant General (r) Muhammad Saeed following his appointment as Chairman of the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda).
During the meeting held in Islamabad, the prime minister extended congratulations to the newly appointed chairman. The federal cabinet had formally approved the appointment of the former three-star general to the top post in Wapda.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Muhammad Ishaq Dar, was also present at the meeting.
The premier expressed his best wishes and voiced confidence in Saeed’s ability to perform his duties effectively in the new role.
Shehbaz Sharif expressed hope that Lt Gen (r) Muhammad Saeed would deliver commendably as Wapda chairman and contribute significantly to the authority’s operational excellence.
Lt Gen Muhammad Saeed served as DG Rangers, Karachi Corps Commander and Chief of General Staff at GHQ before retiring in November 2023.
