— Maryam Nawaz Sharif (@MaryamNSharif) August 1, 2025These machines use ultra-fine water mist to capture and neutralize dangerous airborne particles such as PM2.5 and PM10, bringing them down to the ground and effectively cleansing the air.
According to the CM, these anti-smog guns will be integrated with Lahore’s Air Quality Monitoring Network and the Environmental Protection Force. The system will activate automatically during heightened pollution levels, offering a smart, responsive approach to air quality management.
Further enhancing its technological edge, the smog control system will be connected to satellite data, drone surveillance, QR-coded brick kilns, and an AI-based tracking system, allowing precise targeting of pollution hotspots.
Calling the initiative a “revolutionary step for environmental protection,” Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the fight against smog will be won through innovation, technology, and active citizen participation.
