Saeed Ajmal creates WCL history with stunning 6/16 vs Australia Champions

He produced a sensational spell of 6/16 against Australia Champions

LEICESTER (Dunya News) - Pakistan Champions’ veteran spinner Saeed Ajmal etched his name into the World Championship of Legends (WCL) record books on Tuesday, producing a sensational spell of 6/16 against Australia Champions at Grace Road to claim the best bowling figures in tournament history.

Ajmal’s devastating performance not only earned him the first five-wicket haul in WCL history but also eclipsed the previous best of 4/11 by Fidel Edwards for West Indies Champions earlier in the season.

Top WCL bowling figures:

1. Saeed Ajmal (Pakistan) – 6/16 vs Australia 2. Fidel Edwards (West Indies) – 4/11 vs England 3. Aaron Phangiso (South Africa) – 4/13 vs Australia 4. Stuart Meaker (England) – 4/24 vs West Indies 5. Ajmal Shahzad (England) – 4/31 vs India

Ajmal dismantled the Australian batting lineup almost single-handedly. He struck in the sixth over, removing top-scorer Ben Dunk (26 off 14) and followed up with two more wickets in the same over. He then dismissed Ben Cutting in his next over to move to four wickets.

The former No. 1 spinner completed his historic haul in his final over, dismissing Peter Siddle and Steve O’Keefe, wrapping up Australia Champions for a paltry 74.

Pakistan Champions made light work of the chase, reaching the target in just 7.3 overs without losing a wicket. Sharjeel Khan (32)* and Sohaib Maqsood (28)* guided their team to a 10-wicket victory, sealing a dominant win and consolidating their position in the league.
