India confirms Asia Cup clash against Pakistan will proceed as scheduled

BCCI emphasised that all arrangements were finalised during the recent ACC meeting

NEW DELHI (Web Desk) – The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that it will not withdraw from the highly anticipated Asia Cup match against Pakistan, stating the fixture will take place as per the official schedule.

According to Indian media, the BCCI emphasised that all arrangements were finalised during the recent Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting, and the tournament schedule was released only after receiving the government’s green signal.

Therefore, there is no possibility of any changes at this stage.

Sources said a high-level meeting was held to review the situation in detail, and it was unanimously decided to stick with the original schedule.

The BCCI maintained that sports should remain separate from politics and that cricket matches between the two nations are vital for the growth of the sport in the region. Fans worldwide eagerly anticipate the Pakistan-India clash, and this confirmation strengthened the likelihood that the match will take place on time.

The Asia Cup schedule was officially announced on Sunday, with the tournament starting on September 9. Pakistan and India are set to meet in their first group-stage encounter on September 14 and could face each other up to three times during the event.
