ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar said that Pakistan is providing all possible diplomatic and legal support for the release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui.
He made these remarks while speaking to media in Islamabad on Monday.
The minister clarified that Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar's comments regarding Dr Aafia Siddiqui's case were taken out of context. He also noted that Dr Fauzia Siddiqui, sister of Dr Aafia Siddiqui, recently met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Tarar further shared that a legal committee has been established under the chairmanship of the Minister for Law and Justice over the release of Dr Aafia.
He emphasised that rarely have there been such extensive efforts for Dr Aafia Siddiqui's release as are underway in this era.

Responding to another question, Tarar asserted that DPM Ishaq Dar is not a member of the Sugar Advisory Board and former finance minister Miftah Ismail isn’t speaking truth on this issue.
Talking about cryptocurrency, he said that Pakistan is the only country in the region with well-defined rules and regulations. He expressed optimism about the country's strong potential for growth in this sector.
