ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Sunday said Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates have finalised mutual visa exemptions for holders of diplomatic and official passports from both nations.

In post on X, Dar shared details of the agreement reached with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, describing it as a milestone for the “brotherly nations.”

He stated, “The UAE authorities have confirmed that, effective July 25, 2025, Pakistani diplomatic and official passport holders are exempt from visa requirements at all UAE airports.”

He further noted that both countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize the mutual visa waiver, which would take effect 30 days after signing. Similar exemptions for Emirati diplomatic and official passport holders have been implemented at all Pakistani airports.

Earlier in July, UAE Interior Minister Lt Gen Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan pledged full cooperation in streamlining visa processes for Pakistani citizens during a meeting with Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

Naqvi, during the discussions, underscored the need for relaxed visa policies, stating, “Simplifying visa procedures will greatly facilitate Pakistani citizens traveling to the UAE, fostering stronger ties.”
