LONDON (Web Desk) - In the ongoing World Championship of Legends, Pakistan Champions defeated South Africa Champions by 31 runs on Friday.
After losing the toss, Pakistan batted first and scored 198 runs for 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Pakistan’s openers Sharjeel Khan scored 19 runs off 11 balls, and Kamran Akmal made 17 runs off 11 balls before getting out.
Captain Mohammad Hafeez could only score 8 runs. A crucial 79-run partnership was formed between Shoaib Malik and Umar Amin. Umar Amin played an excellent innings of 58 runs off 42 balls, while Shoaib Malik remained not out at 46 runs off 34 balls.
Asif Ali played a blistering knock of 23 runs off 11 balls in the final overs, including 2 sixes and 2 fours, while Aamer Yamin remained not out at 11 runs off 4 balls.
For South Africa, Duanne Olivier took 2 wickets. Chasing Pakistan’s target of 199 runs, South Africa was restricted to 167 runs for 9 wickets in the allotted overs, and the Green Shirts won the match by 31 runs.
For South Africa, Morné van Wyk scored 44 runs off 20 balls, while Wynand Pretorius made 21 runs off 9 balls, and Chris Morris scored 10 runs.
For Pakistan, Sohail Tanvir and Mohammad Hafeez took 2 wickets each, while Rumman Raees, Shoaib Malik, Sohail Khan, Wahab Riaz, and Imad Wasim claimed one wicket each. With 31-run victory, Pakistan registered their second consecutive win in the event.
