TikToker Sumeera Rajput found dead in Ghotki

Rajput’s death follows the murder of another social media celebrity Sana Yousaf

LARKANA (Web Desk) – A Pakistani TikToker was found dead at her residence in Ghotki, Sindh on Friday.

Sumeera Rajput had over 58,000 followers and was regularly active on the social media platform.

Rajput's 15-year-old daughter alleges that her mother was poisoned by individuals pressuring her into a forced marriage. Two suspects are currently in custody while the investigation is ongoing.

District Police Officer Anwar Shaikh reported that Rajput’s daughter claimed the suspects gave her mother poisonous tablets, causing her death.

The body underwent a post-mortem at a local hospital, where Medical Superintendent Dr Sarwanand noted no signs of physical violence.

Samples are being analysed to confirm the cause. No FIR has been filed, but the police held two suspects and pursuing multiple leads.

Shaikh stated, “The motive remains unknown, but we are investigating possible foul play.” The lack of physical injuries suggests poisoning, which aligns with the daughter’s allegations.

The ongoing investigation aims to clarify the circumstances and identify the perpetrators.

Rajput’s death follows a troubling pattern. In June 2025, 17-year-old TikToker Sana Yousaf, who had 740,000 followers, was shot dead in Islamabad. The police arrested the suspect, Umar Hayat, within 20 hours of the incident. These occurrences have raised concerns about the safety of female social media influencers.

Rajput’s million-plus TikTok likes highlighted her influence. Fans on X expressed their grief with posts such as: “Another TikToker lost to violence—justice for Sumeera!” This case emphasises the vulnerabilities faced by content creators, especially women, in Pakistan.
